I'll be posting about the Food Matters night this weekend, after I procure a few pictures, but meanwhile, I have found a great site for you and your family. It's called "100 Days of Real Food" and features recipes for just about everything, along with budgets, etc. Some of these recipes are so simple and good that...even a non-cook can do it. ;-D
I think everyone should try making something on this list and bring little samples in to share. A final taste test! Yes, this sounds like fun!
Just look through it and let me know what you think! Would you recommend any of these to the cafeteria?
Ever since I made my organic pizza, and having my family come to the Food Matters night, we have all become more interested in trying new ways of cooking. I went through some of those recipes, and they look great! I like how there are a large assortment of easy recipes for every meal of the day. I noticed the picture of the Caprese sandwich.. yum!! I can't wait to try some of these out!
ReplyDeleteIf you make the Caprese sandwich, please let me know how it is. I keep seeing this crop up on several sites, even Pinterest!
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to try breakfast foods made with whole wheat. I definitely want to try the whole wheat pancakes and crepes. This probably sounds gross to everyone else, but I'd also like to try the PB&J smoothie. I'm obsessed with peanut butter!
ReplyDeleteI put pb in many things!!! Especially smoothies....I'm obsessed, too. :)
Delete1. I was looking at this website and was struck with the weirdest sense of deja vu. I knew I had seen this family before and of course, with the small world that it is... I had. Actually, their story on the "Be Inspired" blog on the Earth Fare website I blogged about on Wednesday! Small small world.
ReplyDelete2. CAPRESE SANDWICHES ARE DELICIOUS. There's a place in Decatur called Figo that has a caprese panini. Granted, I'm pretty sure it has processed ingredients (don't actually know for sure though) but it is beyond delicious. Now, I make caprese sandwiches for lunch some days! I highly suggest it.
Where in Decatur is Figo?????
DeleteThe farmer's stir fry and whole-wheat tortillas and spaghetti all look delicious to me! We should definately get the cafeteria to make this. I've been talking to my mom about trying out new recipes, and I showed her these and she was interested!!
ReplyDeleteWouldn't that be nice? To get the cafeteria on board?!!!
DeleteI love how in this day and age it has become necessary to distinguish between "real food" and just food, because of they way our food has been manipulated and altered. It's pretty sad. Hopefully one day we won't have to distinguish between humans and "real humans".
